An NBC News helicopter crashes near the scene of a fatal bus accident in Los Angeles, killing at least three people and injuring others. Reports identify the helicopter as NBC Los Angeles’ NewsChopper 4. NBC personnel confirm the helicopter goes down while crews are covering the nearby crash.

The crash takes place in Chatsworth in the San Fernando Valley, with accounts saying the helicopter catches fire and bursts into flames. Firefighters respond as aerial views show wreckage burning near nearby buildings and other vehicles, and fires spread in the area. Some outlets specify two people are also hospitalized, while the wider bus crash earlier in the day is described as involving deaths and multiple injuries.

Across coverage, the common focus is that the helicopter is operating in the vicinity of the bus collision and that casualties are reported both aboard and on the ground. Outlets vary mainly in how they describe timing, the exact number of injured people, and details of damage and the surrounding scene.
