A six-month-old baby is critically injured after a pit bull attacks the child during a walk in Sonipat, Haryana. Multiple reports say the incident occurs in or around Sikka Colony, on September 14, when the infant’s aunt takes the baby outside.
CCTV footage shared by outlets shows the dog suddenly running toward the woman and lunging at the infant, after which the aunt falls. The dog is then reported to grab the baby and drag her along the road as people nearby try to intervene and free the child. The baby is described as severely hurt and is later referred to PGIMS Rohtak for treatment.
While all accounts broadly describe the attack and injuries, they differ slightly on details. One report says the dog escapes from a neighboring house, while another emphasizes residents’ concerns about how the animal is kept and whether safety rules were followed. Several outlets also note that officials are awaiting a formal police complaint in connection with the incident.
