The New York Yankees do not include Aaron Judge on their roster for the American League Division Series against the Tampa Bay Rays, according to multiple reports.

The decision comes after Judge has been sidelined since Sept. 18 and does not participate in the team’s postseason until the ALDS. Yahoo Sports notes that Judge also misses the Yankees’ wild-card round victory over the Boston Red Sox, during which he remains unavailable.

Both outlets frame the news as a roster move tied to Judge’s ongoing absence rather than a performance-related decision. With Judge left off, New York will proceed through the five-game ALDS without its team captain and star slugger.
