Apple’s French regulatory website appears to list an unreleased accessory for the iPad mini, prompting speculation that a new iPad mini model is imminent. Multiple outlets report that the listing includes a Smart Folio associated with a previously unseen iPad model identifier.
According to AppleInsider, the case is tied to model A3632, which does not match any existing iPad mini models. 9to5Mac similarly describes the listing as an apparent oversight that may confirm an upcoming iPad mini refresh. MacRumors adds that the new Smart Folio does not match the accessory used for iPad mini 6 and iPad mini 7, which suggests potential changes in the next device’s form factor.
Outlets frame this as an early leak rather than official specifications: the listing does not include iPad mini hardware details. Still, broader rumors circulating before the listing suggest the next iPad mini could feature an OLED display and improved water resistance, with some reports pointing to an end-of-October launch window. The sites differ mainly in how they interpret what accessory model changes imply, but they agree the listing is new and tied to a model number not currently seen in the lineup.
