Several Nigerian politicians say Northern voters will support President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general elections, with some predicting very high levels of backing. Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf tells Tinubu he will get Northern support, while he also says the region will vote 100% for the president. Other officials and party figures make similar assurances across the North, including promises of large margins.
In the same period, the APC national chairman, Nentawe Yilwatda, predicts Tinubu will win over 70% of Northern votes. Separately, Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq says parties in Kwara—APC and PDP—will vote for Tinubu in 2027, linking the stance to political influence within the country. The outlets also include calls from officials for Northerners and APC members to mobilise to secure Tinubu’s re-election.
