A car and a Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) bus collide head-on on the Khamgaon–Pandharpur National Highway in Beed district, leaving five people dead and one person critically injured. Reports say the crash happens near Shindewadi Phata/Shindewadi Cross Road in the Majalgaon area.

Multiple outlets cite CCTV and on-scene accounts indicating the car is speeding and loses control while trying to avoid potholes on a bridge, leading to the head-on impact with the bus. The car’s occupants are residents of Majalgaon travelling to Tuljapur for a visit to the Tulja Bhavani temple. Officials and reporting from PTI say the bus’s front end and the car are extensively damaged.

Beyond the crash details, one outlet reports that locals protest poor road conditions following the accident, alleging inadequate maintenance and unsafe road surfaces. The protest includes a road blockade that brings traffic to a standstill for several hours before police and district officials intervene and restore movement.
