South Korea will send a public-private delegation to Kazakhstan to expand bilateral cooperation in the water industry and help Korean firms enter the Kazakh market, the foreign ministry says. The three-day visit runs through Wednesday and includes officials from South Korea’s foreign and energy ministries, nine Korean water companies, and representatives of related state-run entities.
During the trip, the delegation meets major Kazakh water management agencies to discuss technological cooperation, visits water and wastewater treatment facilities, and reviews ongoing pilot projects. The aim is to identify further business opportunities. Korea and Kazakhstan have previously signed a memorandum of understanding on smart water management technologies and have conducted pilot projects using Korean water-industry products and technologies.
Across outlets, the focus remains on the planned delegation, its composition, and the agenda—engagement with Kazakh water authorities, facility visits, and assessment of existing pilot work as a basis for future cooperation.
