San Francisco-based direct-to-consumer retailer Quince launches in the UK, marking its first market outside North America. The company positions itself as a lower-priced alternative for shoppers seeking luxury-style goods, offering items across categories including cashmere, clothing, leather goods, jewellery, beauty and homewares.

Quince’s entry comes as it expands the broader “dupe” retail model, which outlets describe as relying on creating lookalike products based on popular brands and then selling them at significantly lower prices. The Financial Times and other coverage characterise the approach as copying products from well-known luxury and fashion labels, while Retail Gazette and Business of Fashion focus on the brand’s move overseas and its product range. Retail Gazette also reports a valuation earlier this year of about $10.1 billion (around £7.5 billion), framing the UK launch as a step in the company’s growth strategy.
