A 47-year-old mother of seven, Thelma Candelaria, is killed after being struck by a train while on an early morning run in Eloy, near Tucson, Arizona. Reports say she was on or near railroad tracks when she was hit. Multiple outlets also say she had been posting to social media, using video from the moments before her death.

According to the accounts, she stopped as a train passed and then was struck from behind or by another train while trying to move across the tracks. The Independent and Metro both describe her wearing noise-cancelling headphones while running. Metro adds that the family reconstructs the morning using her clips and surveillance footage, including footage showing a small light thought to be from her phone near one of the trains.

Outlets also differ in emphasis. Metro highlights her daughter’s statement about her faith and that she was baptized a week earlier. The Independent focuses on the timing of the baptism. The Daily Mail and New York Post lead with her livestream/recording on the tracks and her headphones, with the New York Post specifically describing the sequence of trains coming in different directions.
