Fox Corp. announces that Chief Legal and Policy Officer Adam Ciongoli will not renew his contract and will step down effective December 1. The company says Ciongoli will continue in a reduced capacity as a special advisor through June 2028.

Nicholas Trutanich, currently an executive vice president and principal deputy general counsel, is promoted to general counsel. Multiple outlets report the transition follows about three years of changes in leadership of Fox’s legal department, with Trutanich moving into the role as the company’s top lawyer.

Several reports note Ciongoli’s role in navigating major litigation involving allegations of election falsehoods. Coverage across outlets focuses mainly on the personnel change—when it takes effect, the scope of Ciongoli’s continued advisory role, and Trutanich’s expanded responsibilities—rather than detailing new legal developments or policy shifts.
