Nigeria’s Independent System Operator, NISO, says the national electricity grid returns to normal after multiple trips (trippings) on the 330-kilovolt (kV) transmission network on Monday. NISO says the trippings occurred around 12:40 p.m. and that it quickly implements corrective measures in coordination with the transmission company, TCN.

Across outlets, NISO addresses reporting that suggested widespread disruption. Instead, the system operator says it stabilises operations and works to restore normal service, presenting the event as a controlled disturbance on the 330kV level rather than a continuing major outage. One outlet describes the grid as fully restored, while another emphasizes stabilization and corrective actions following the multiple trips. The reports largely align on the cause being the 330kV trippings and on NISO’s role in recovery efforts, though details on the specific affected locations are handled differently by each source.
