Dwayne Johnson and Benny Safdie’s upcoming film “Lizard Music” is scheduled for a Christmas Day, Dec. 25, 2027 theatrical release, with Amazon MGM Studios distributing. ComingSoon.net reports the date and adds that the film shares that release window with other titles, including Warner Bros. Pictures and Nancy Meyers’ “Paris…” (as referenced in its summary).
The Hollywood Reporter and Deadline both link the project to Safdie’s role as director. Deadline further describes the movie as a live-action/CGI hybrid and provides a plot outline: a boy left to his own devices discovers a secret late-night broadcast of lizards playing otherworldly music and finds a hidden door to something extraordinary. Hollywood Reporter states that Safdie helms the feature from his own script adapting Daniel Pinkwater’s novel.
