Singapore’s Ministry of Manpower (MOM) issues new guidance telling employers to adjust outdoor work activities based on hourly PM2.5 air-quality readings. The guidance directs workplaces to progressively reduce outdoor activities as hourly PM2.5 levels rise, rather than relying only on longer-range forecasts.

MOM says the additional set of instructions complements existing guidance that uses a 24-hour PSI forecast. The different outlet coverage focuses on how the new approach is applied day-to-day—by linking reductions in outdoor work to hourly measurements—while keeping the framework consistent with current advice already issued to employers.

The guidance is aimed at helping employers manage exposure risks for workers during periods of poorer air quality, aligning workplace decisions with real-time pollution indicators.
