Bluesound is rolling out a free BluOS software update that adds native Apple Music streaming support to compatible home audio systems. After signing in, Apple Music playback becomes available through the BluOS Controller app, and the update is designed to let the device system handle the music stream rather than relying on an iPhone or iPad to deliver audio.
The feature launches via a BluOS update dated October 20, and AirPlay 2 remains available. For households with multiple BluOS products, the new Apple Music integration also extends to the same multi-room setup used for managing playback across grouped devices, including the ability to play different music in different rooms.
Across coverage, outlets agree that the integration applies not only to Bluesound speakers, stereo components, and soundbars, but also to BluOS-compatible products from NAD Electronics, PSB Speakers, DALI Loudspeakers, Cyrus, and Monitor Audio. MacRumors notes Bluesound has not specified the streaming quality for the integration, while TechRadar highlights competitive positioning, describing it as a way to improve Bluesound’s appeal.
