Pakistani authorities have arrested a man accused of running an online operation that allegedly sold counterfeit US postage labels, causing more than $126 million in losses to the US Postal Service. Pakistan’s National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) says the suspect, identified as a 33-year-old from Khanewal, was arrested in Lahore. US prosecutors accuse him of operating an unauthorised website selling millions of counterfeit stamps.
NCCIA says the alleged sales occurred over a three-year period and that the website—LabelsBank.com—operated from August 2023 to September 2026. The agency reports that more than five million stamps were sold at about $2 per stamp, and estimates the transaction value at around Rs35 billion. It also describes an investigation involving a money trail through 16 bank accounts linked to the suspect and several relatives.
Outlets agree on the core allegations and the arrest, with some providing limited detail. Dawn and The Express Tribune add specific elements such as the case registration, the approximate number of stamps, the website period, and investigation steps. ABC News - International focuses more broadly on the arrest and the claimed US Postal Service losses.
