Imported petrol landing costs in Nigeria fall marginally to ₦1,283.81 per litre, down from ₦1,292.88, according to the latest energy bulletin from MEMAN, as reported by multiple outlets.
Even with the reduction, drivers in major cities such as Lagos and Abuja continue to see higher retail pump prices. Coverage across outlets notes that current station prices can reach around ₦1,429 per litre, with some reporting a range of roughly ₦1,370 to ₦1,429. The difference is described as reflecting additional supply-chain expenses, including transportation, storage, and retail margins.
Some reports also place the change in the context of broader pricing dynamics. One outlet mentions that the landing cost sits around ₦66 below Dangote Refinery’s gantry price and below quoted depot prices, while also noting a slight rise in Brent crude to about $108.90 per barrel. Another outlet references a proposed 30-day petrol discount initiative at NNPC stations, which would peg prices at ₦1,350 per litre, but says it is not yet implemented.
