Chaka Khan is set to receive the Classic Soul Honor at the 2026 Soul Train Awards. The recognition highlights her long-running influence on R&B, reflecting her role as a singer-songwriter whose music spans more than five decades.
Both outlets frame the announcement as a career milestone. Variety emphasizes the breadth of Khan’s impact across soul, funk and R&B, and points to well-known songs associated with her legacy. Billboard similarly reports the honor but provides little additional detail beyond the premise that the year has brought her major recognition, without adding further specifics about her career or the award’s broader meaning.
