A group of Canadians has filed a complaint with Canada’s Competition Bureau asking the regulator to investigate allegations that Israeli real estate companies misled Canadians about the location of properties being sold. The complaint alleges that homes promoted to buyers in Canada were presented as being in Israel, despite being in occupied Palestinian territories in the West Bank.

The complaint is said to cover Israeli real estate events in Toronto and Montreal held between March 2024 and May 2026. Middle East Eye reports that the complaint is filed in Ottawa by the Global Echo Litigation Center, working with Canadian Lawyers for International Human Rights, and that the complainants include Palestinians and Jews who are not named.

Across coverage, the core focus is the Competition Bureau review and the alleged marketing conduct tied to West Bank properties. Some outlets emphasize the regulatory body’s role in examining whether marketing crossed into misleading or “false” advertising, while others foreground the nature of the alleged advertising and the involvement of multiple companies and a Canadian marketing firm.
