President Bola Tinubu’s information adviser, Bayo Onanuga, says Nigeria’s administration is not discouraging investment, and points to 19 projects across multiple sectors. In posts published in recent days, Onanuga responds to opposition claims that Tinubu’s economic reforms are scaring investors.

The projects he cites span banking, oil and gas, power, mining and related industry, telecommunications and technology, data centres, ports and logistics. The initiatives include moves by major financial institutions and planned fintech and merchant-banking activity, alongside oil and gas developments tied to international operators. He also lists power-generation efforts, industrial investments such as lithium and fertiliser projects, and infrastructure commitments involving ports and logistics companies.

Across the two outlets, the main emphasis is the same: Onanuga uses the breadth of investments and their stated timelines—described as running between 2025 and 2026 in one account—to argue that investor confidence persists. Both reports frame the list as a rebuttal to criticism of the reforms, with projects described as varying in progress, from completed facilities and signed agreements to proposals awaiting approvals or final investment decisions.
