The Delhi government plans to install first-aid medical facilities, including dedicated health workers, in government schools across the city. The proposal is described as creating safer, more supportive learning conditions for students during school hours.
According to reports, the plan aligns with India’s National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. India Today specifically says the facilities are intended for all 1,086 government schools, while other outlets frame the initiative as medical rooms that provide immediate care for minor injuries and sudden illnesses.
Times of India adds that the facilities would also address menstrual health needs for girl students by providing a private space. NDTV and India Today emphasise first-aid access and basic support for students, while Times of India highlights additional menstrual-health-related components alongside first-aid and trained health workers.
