Samsung is running a sponsored social media advertising campaign that mocks display cracks reported on some iPhone Duo units. Samsung shared images on its Canadian Instagram account showing a bright line through the inner-display area, with promotional copy that directs viewers to the Galaxy Z Fold8.
Samsung describes the effort as a “playful” campaign tied to intensifying rivalry in foldables and differences in experience within the category. The reports note that some early iPhone Duo buyers experienced hinge problems that lead to inner-display cracks in a similar location.
Apple, meanwhile, says it is aware of the display issue affecting a small number of iPhone Duo devices, advises customers to contact AppleCare for a replacement, and indicates affected users would see the problem early. The outlets also frame the ad around broader competition in foldable smartphones, with Samsung emphasizing its Galaxy Z Fold8 design and positioning it against Apple’s entry.
