Canva has announced “Brush,” a new vision-language AI model intended to help people edit and refine designs inside Canva. Multiple outlets describe it as shifting from generating a complete graphic from scratch to making step-by-step edits that consider layout and existing elements, with the goal of isolating changes rather than triggering unintended knock-on effects.
Fast Company reports that Brush “sees” design details like layout, layers, and overall “vibe,” and that its outputs remain fully editable so users can add a more human touch. It also highlights a promotional video showing edits applied to ice cream branding mock-ups, including product staging and variations. NDTV adds that Brush works from natural-language instructions and can refine changes ranging from a single line of text to an entire presentation.
NDTV and Fast Company both note that Canva positions Brush for Canva Pro subscribers at launch, while Fast Company includes additional performance and cost claims from Canva and notes Brush follows another Canva AI release, “Craft.” Small Business Trends focuses on the tool’s claimed impact on editing speed and quality, echoing the broader theme of faster, higher-quality design iteration.
