Cognizant says it is creating an OpenAI Frontier Capability Group with more than 25,000 professionals to help enterprises put OpenAI technologies into production. The group is intended to deploy tools such as Codex and ChatGPT for clients and will initially focus on Cognizant’s own go-to-market and customer operations.
Cognizant describes a staged rollout: it is first scaling OpenAI capabilities across internal sales and customer success teams, then extending tested approaches to clients. The work highlighted across reports includes software engineering, updating legacy systems, and customer service use cases.
One notable difference in coverage is timing and context. The Next Web frames the announcement as coming shortly after Cognizant backed Google’s Gemini with a larger internal push. The other outlets focus more directly on the structure and purpose of the OpenAI group rather than comparing it to earlier steps with other AI providers.
