Halifax customers have until the end of today to switch from the Halifax mobile app to the Lloyds banking app before access through the Halifax app is closed. Lloyds Banking Group began phasing out the Halifax app in early October, telling customers to move to Lloyds’s app so they can continue using digital banking without interruption.

The change is framed by Lloyds as a way to make its services “simpler and more consistent,” with customers retaining access to their accounts and existing information through Lloyds systems after November 1. Metro reports that customers were notified via email and that the switch process is meant to preserve access to items such as accounts, set-up payments, and digital inbox letters and statements.

The Daily Express emphasizes the urgency of the deadline, describing it as customers having “just hours left” and stating that the existing Halifax app and online services will be shut down for good. Both outlets focus on the same end-of-day cutoff and the required move to the Lloyds app.
