Welsh singer Cate McHugh wins The Voice UK 2026, taking the top prize at the show’s grand final on ITV1. Multiple outlets say the victory comes after performances that highlight her talent, including time in Team Tom Jones, and that she is congratulated by her coach.
BBC Entertainment reports that McHugh is congratulated by coach Sir Tom Jones after being crowned winner. WalesOnline similarly focuses on her local background, describing her as being from Llantwit Major and winning at the final. The Times of India adds broader context, saying McHugh also receives a cash prize and a recording contract, and it notes that Sir Tom Jones announces retirement from the show, as ITV looks to revamp the coaching panel.
Overall, the outlets agree on who wins and the role of Sir Tom Jones. They differ mainly in how much they include about prizes, contractual outcomes, and behind-the-scenes changes around the coaching panel.
