Abdullah Khan, who described himself as a “Salafi Jihadi,” is sentenced to jail for two terrorism-linked incidents in Dublin, including setting fire to the Black Forge pub associated with Conor McGregor and stabbing a Garda, according to multiple reports.

All outlets say the attacks took place last summer and involved a separate fire-raising incident at the pub and an attack on a police officer. RTE News reports a total sentence of six and a half years for the two incidents. Irish Mirror reports that Ms Justice Karen O’Connor sentences Khan for eight separate offences.

Other outlets frame the case as the work of a self-styled “jihadi” and focus on the combined nature of the criminal acts: arson targeting the pub and a stabbing of an officer. The variation across coverage is mainly in how prominently the terrorism description (“Salafi Jihadi” or “self-styled jihadi”) and the sentencing details are featured rather than in the core account of what Khan is convicted of doing.
