Russian forces strike a school building used for distributing humanitarian aid in the village of Komyshuvakha in Ukraine’s Zaporizhzhia region, killing at least 24 people, according to Ukrainian emergency and civil defence authorities.

Different outlets describe the attack as involving bombing of both an aid-related facility and a shelter area, and they frame it as part of a broader pattern of attacks causing civilian casualties. Several reports cite Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who says the settlement had been hit multiple times during the day and that the strike is “utterly horrific.”

Some outlets add further detail about the attack’s scope: one reports guided bombs were used and that around 20 people are missing, while others focus on the deaths and the humanitarian purpose of the site. Additional reporting also mentions other incidents elsewhere in Ukraine—such as drone strikes injuring people—though these are not presented as part of the same strike site.
