McTominay returns to Scotland squad as Penrice earns first call-up

Soccer News leads with McTominay’s return, mentioning he was sidelined in the last break and naming Sebastien Pocognoli as the selector.

The Independent combines two headline developments—Penrice’s first call-up and McTominay’s return—then specifies the North Macedonia and Switzerland fixtures to close the Nations League run.

Yahoo Sports foregrounds the wider squad changes by listing multiple returning players (McTominay, Tierney, Che Adams) while also introducing Penrice for the remaining matches.

BBC News uses a similar combined framing to The Independent, pairing McTominay’s return with Penrice’s debut call-up and adding the return of Tierney and Che Adams.

Sky Sports reiterates the same core framing as other Sky coverage, focusing on Penrice’s first call and McTominay’s return for the North Macedonia and Switzerland games.

Sky Sports Football presents the same announcement, placing Penrice’s first call-up first and treating McTominay’s return as the accompanying headline detail.

Sky News highlights the matchup context as a “crucial” double-header, emphasising Penrice’s first call-up alongside McTominay’s return.
