The Criterion Collection is releasing a new edition of the animated film “KPop Demon Hunters” on 4K Ultra HD, with outlets highlighting additional bonus materials included with the release. Coverage describes the new version as a home-video availability event rather than a new premiere.
Billboard frames the release around where viewers can purchase the disc formats online, while also noting the edition’s wider distribution context. In particular, Billboard says this is the first time the film is available to watch outside of Netflix, aside from a brief theatrical run. Consequence emphasizes the edition’s features, stating it includes “a ton of bonus features,” without focusing on purchase locations. Taken together, the reports agree the Criterion edition expands access beyond Netflix and brings expanded home entertainment options.
