A convicted murderer who escaped a Tennessee prison, Jacob Allen Morley, is recaptured near Kansas City, Missouri, about a week after the breakout, authorities say. Multiple outlets report he had been on the run since escaping from the Northwest Correctional Complex in far northwestern Tennessee.
The coverage describes the escape as happening when Morley slipped through a fence while wearing prison clothes. Several outlets add that he is serving a life sentence for murder. Some reports mention additional details about his movements, including surveillance footage showing him stealing a vehicle near Tiptonville, Tennessee.
Outlets differ in emphasis and sourcing: some foreground the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation’s confirmation, while others highlight Missouri law enforcement’s role in the recapture. One outlet also notes physical identifiers, such as his appearance, matching what he had when he fled.
