Morgan Stanley says it has converted U.S. equities and Treasuries into tokenized form using the newly launched DTCC Tokenization Service. Decrypt reports that the service is already backed by 20 Wall Street firms that signed up to use it, while other outlets describe the bank’s role as among the first to participate.
The announcements are framed around the broader push to move “real world assets” onto blockchain-based infrastructure. CoinDesk adds that DTCC’s service, known as the Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation’s Tokenization Service (DTS), launched on Oct. 28. Across the coverage, the central shared point is the same: Morgan Stanley is among the earliest banks to tokenize U.S. market assets through DTCC’s new offering.
