The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) says Nigerians can download their National Identification Number (NIN) slips online for free using its NINAuth mobile application. Across the reports, the process is presented as straightforward and aimed at registered Nigerians who already have their NIN.
The outlets frame the story as practical guidance. Vanguard and The Punch both focus on “step-by-step” instructions and emphasise that the NIN slip can be obtained without paying. Legit.ng similarly highlights that NIMC provides an official method through NINAuth, adding that the approach can help people avoid visits to enrolment centres and “agent fees.” The coverage is broadly aligned on the core message: NIMC provides free download instructions through its mobile app.
The main contextual difference is how each outlet positions the benefit—whether simply convenience and free access (Vanguard and Punch) or also cost and reduced reliance on third parties (Legit.ng).
