Sony is expanding its Android 17 rollout to additional mid-range models. After releasing Android 17 for the Xperia 1 VIII and later extending it to the Xperia 1 VII, Sony now also makes the update available for the Xperia 10 VII and Xperia 10 VIII.
Both outlets describe the move as part of Sony’s broader software update process, but they differ in emphasis. GSMArena focuses on the specific functionality included, noting an update to the “Wallpaper & style” feature and other refreshed elements. Android Authority highlights that the Xperia 10 VII and 10 VIII do not get all Android 17 features, pointing out a limitation for these particular devices. GSMArena also says Sony has not specified which regions are receiving the update yet, while expecting initial availability in the UK and Europe based on earlier Xperia 1 series rollout patterns.
