Grand Theft Auto VI launches November 19, and multiple reports focus on its unusually large download size. GameSpot and PR Newswire both say the game’s file is about 212GB and that Spectrum is promoting a way to speed up downloading through its internet service.

Both outlets describe the same promotional window: customers can opt in using the My Spectrum app between November 9 and November 30, provided they have a qualifying plan and compatible equipment. Spectrum states that eligible users can get a “Gig Speed Lift,” with download speeds increased (to 1Gbps or 2Gbps depending on the starting plan) and that the promotion is intended to help downloads finish in under 30 minutes.

After November 30, the speed boost is removed from customers’ accounts automatically, the reports say. The coverage also notes that the promotion spans major shopping and holiday periods, including Thanksgiving and Black Friday/Cyber Monday, and ties the faster download capability to earlier access to Leonida and the game’s release on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
