West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari launches the “West Bengal Investment Promotion Policy, 2026” to attract domestic and international industry investment. The policy is presented as aimed at speeding investment across heavy, medium and small industries, supporting employment, and improving infrastructure and land allocation processes.
According to the reporting, the incentives can reportedly reach up to 120% for investments in plants and machinery, with provisions spanning small, medium and large industries across sectors. The outlets also note that Adhikari says the government is in talks with Ashok Leyland about setting up a plant at Singur.
Outlets largely share the same core details: the policy launch and the mention of renewed industrial interest tied to Singur. Differences are mainly in emphasis—some foreground the incentive levels and broader industrial framing, while others focus more narrowly on the Singur development alongside the policy’s land-for-industries intent.
