A man in Faridabad is shot dead by his neighbour after an argument over vehicle parking that also involved a pet dog, police say. Multiple reports identify the victim as Paramjeet Dhankar (also spelled Paramjit Dhankhar/Dhankhar), and the accused as Monu Sharma (also referred to as Mohan Sharma/Monu Sharma). NDTV reports he is shot nine times; other accounts describe being hit by multiple bullets after firing described as about 15 rounds.

Police say the confrontation happens in a multi-storey building’s parking area on Dhanteras night around the time of Diwali. Several outlets say the victim had recently returned from Singapore to attend a family wedding, and that tensions between the two families had been building in the days before the shooting. NDTV adds that the victim asks the accused to move his car from the designated spot, while some Times of India reports describe prior clashes over parking and the dog.

Most outlets report the neighbour flees after the shooting and that police arrest the main accused, with coverage focusing on the dispute’s trigger and the victim’s background in Singapore.
