Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis inaugurates the IDEAL Centre (Interactive Digital, Experimental, Administration and Learning Centre) at the PM SHRI Raigad Zilla Parishad Primary School in Vahal, Panvel, during the “Shala Praveshotsav 2026” (School Enrolment Festival). The programme also coincides with school reopening celebrations after the summer vacation, with Fadnavis attending as chief guest, interacting with students and teachers, and later inspecting the facility. During the event, the chief minister speaks about using technology to improve classroom learning in government schools and says the changes in Zilla Parishad schools have increased parents’ confidence, prompting some families to return from private schools.

The centre is described as providing curriculum content for Classes 1 to 8 in video and audio formats, available in English, Marathi and Urdu. It includes digital learning tools such as computers, e-desk/e-podium setup, interactive whiteboards and exam management facilities, along with online assessment features. One stated design feature is that the software can function offline for up to 90% of operations, aimed at reducing reliance on continuous internet connectivity. Fadnavis also emphasizes value-based education, including constitutional values, civic responsibilities, cleanliness, environmental conservation and social responsibility.
