Pune police register a case against Yogesh Ambadas Deshpande, director of Deshpande Landmark Pvt. Ltd., after a businessman accused him of cheating over ₹80 lakh. The complaint is filed by Vishal Arun Honrao (45), a cable business operator from Dhayari, who says Deshpande promised to double his investment within three years. Police say the alleged fraud spans January 2021 to 2025. Honrao reportedly had received around ₹70 lakh after selling agricultural land in Manchar in August 2020 and was seeking investment opportunities. He was introduced to Deshpande by his uncle, Rakesh Mitkari, who said the builder’s company needed funds for its projects.

According to police, multiple meetings took place at a hotel in Gokhale Nagar, during which Deshpande allegedly assured Honrao of high returns. Honrao invested ₹40 lakh on January 1, 2021, and police say the total amount involved later increased to ₹80 lakh. After the three-year period ended in February 2024, Honrao allegedly sought repayment but Deshpande repeatedly delayed and eventually stopped responding. In June 2025, Honrao says Deshpande called him to a meeting at an advocate’s office in Sadashiv Peth, where he allegedly refused repayment and threatened him. Police say a preliminary investigation indicates Honrao invested based on his uncle’s introduction, and further investigation is underway.
