The Madhya Pradesh Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) arrests another suspect, Haji Azhar, from Dhar in connection with an alleged anti-national and extremist-related case, bringing the total number of arrests in the probe to four. Prior arrests include Mohammad Faraz from Bhopal, and other suspects drawn from outside Madhya Pradesh as investigators deepen their work. Reports say ATS previously detained Faraz and then Naim Abdullah, and that another suspect was brought from Nuh in Haryana for questioning.

Investigators examine digital evidence recovered during the interrogation of the accused. ATS sources report that mobile-phone analysis shows possible communications linked to phone numbers from Pakistan and Afghanistan, and that at least one accused used an app to communicate with foreign contacts. The probe also includes claims that video or picture content—relating to cities in Uttar Pradesh—was reportedly sent to contacts in Pakistan.

Authorities say the case is part of an alleged inter-state “lone-wolf” module and are looking into how the network operated and how many people may be involved. Separate reporting also describes the accused Izhar-ul-Haq, arrested from Madhubani in Bihar and expected to be brought to Bhopal, as being associated with a local madrasa and suspected of links to Lashkar-e-Taiba. The suspects are being produced before a special court under UAPA and related provisions.
