The Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) has announced a month-long men’s developmental tour to the United Kingdom from 20 June to 15 July 2026. The tour is intended to give Mumbai’s emerging cricketers exposure to overseas playing conditions through competitive match practice in English conditions. According to the MCA, the team will play a schedule that includes three two-day matches and multiple one-day fixtures, primarily against county second XI sides and other county representative or professional outfits.
The itinerary lists matches against teams associated with Sussex, Yorkshire, Lancashire, Gloucestershire and Derbyshire, offering the players experience against stronger opposition. The MCA describes the programme as a high-performance development initiative aimed at improving technical and tactical skills, and building adaptability, resilience and professionalism through time away from familiar environments.
Former India captain and Mumbai cricket legend Dilip Vengsarkar is expected to interact with the squad during selected matches. MCA President Ajinkya Naik says the tour’s objective goes beyond results, focusing on player growth and preparation for higher levels of representative cricket. The squad features 18 players, including Musheer Khan and Abhigyan Kundu, along with other Mumbai domestic cricketers.
