AC Milan have confirmed Ruben Amorim as their new head coach on a two-year contract, with an option for a further season, following Massimiliano Allegri’s sacking last month after a fifth-place finish and failure to qualify for the Champions League. Reports say Amorim is already outlining transfer plans with Milan’s hierarchy as the club considers how to strengthen its squad for the upcoming season.
One area of focus is the forward line. Metro reports Amorim is targeting PSG striker Gonçalo Ramos, who has had a reduced role in recent seasons under Luis Enrique. Ramos is currently with Portugal for the World Cup, is tied to PSG until June 2028, and PSG has reportedly set a €40 million asking price. A loan with an option or obligation to buy is mentioned as a possible structure.
Midfield recruitment is also discussed. Metro adds that Milan have begun talks with Manchester United over Manuel Ugarte, who worked with Amorim at Sporting and later moved to United from PSG for £42 million. United are reportedly seeking to sell, with negotiations also linked to Milan’s need to agree terms with Manchester. Other possible targets mentioned include Manuel Ugarte, Morten Hjulmand, and Gonçalo Inácio.
