Polling for Maharashtra Legislative Council (MLC) local authorities constituencies is held in Nashik and Jalgaon on Thursday, with very high voter turnout reported from both districts. In Nashik, voting takes place across nine polling centres, where 618 of 619 eligible voters cast their ballots, recording 99.84% turnout. Polling initially runs slowly in the morning but picks up in the afternoon, and eight centres report 100% turnout while one centre records 98.81%. The electorate includes 319 women corporators and 299 male corporators; one corporator from the Malegaon Municipal Corporation does not vote. In Jalgaon, 616 of 630 eligible voters participate for 97.78% turnout. Five of seven polling centres—Amalner, Faizpur, Jalgaon, Erandol and Pachora—record 100% turnout. Bhusawal reports 98.11% turnout and Chalisgaon the lowest at 76.19%. Counting is scheduled for June 22 at the respective collectorate. The Nashik contest is influenced by alliance dynamics, with the Mahayuti alliance fielding Narendra Darade after other candidates’ developments, while Jalgaon proceedings report withdrawals that narrow the contest before polling.
