Reliance Jio Platforms reports it has crossed 524 million users, a milestone announced by chairman Mukesh Ambani in the company’s 49th Annual General Meeting shareholder communication. Ambani also said Jio has over 268 million 5G subscribers and added 77 million net users over the past year. The company’s fixed wireless broadband unit, JioAirFiber, is connected to about 13 million homes, and Jio says its data traffic reached 241 exabytes in FY26, up 30.8% year-on-year.

Ambani further said Jio Platforms is filing for an initial public offering with India’s market regulator SEBI. Financial results highlighted revenue of Rs. 1,46,885 crore and EBITDA of Rs. 76,255 crore, alongside a first-time profit after tax above Rs. 30,000 crore.

Looking ahead, Ambani outlined commitments including migrating subscribers to 5G by 2030 and expanding JioAirFiber through non-line-of-sight capabilities. He also discussed plans to digitise small businesses, incorporate AI across the consumer and network stack, and export Jio’s technology platforms. On satellite connectivity, the company said it is evaluating a sovereign low-earth-orbit constellation while also considering near-term capacity leasing from global providers, alongside building domestic ground-station infrastructure.
