India finishes the World Boxing Cup 2 in Guiyang, China with one gold, three silver and two bronze after reaching multiple finals across weight categories. In the women’s 48kg final, Jyoti wins against Uzbekistan’s Farzona Fozilova, the reigning World Boxing Cup Brazil gold medallist, earning a 5-0 unanimous decision. Earlier in the tournament, Jyoti advances to the final with a 3-2 win over Mexico’s Fatima Herrera.

India’s other medal results come from finals and semi-finals. Minakshi (51kg) secures a place in the 51kg final with a 5-0 unanimous win over Spain’s Laura Fuertes Fernández, but then loses the final 0-5 to China’s Wu Yu to take silver. Prachi (57kg) reaches the gold bout after a 4-1 win over France’s Amina Zidani and later loses 0-5 to Uzbekistan’s Nigina Uktamova for silver.

In the men’s competition, Deepak (70kg) wins a semi-final 5-0 over France’s Makan Traore but loses the final 0-5 to Kazakhstan’s Ablaikhan Zhussupov for silver. Jugnoo (85kg) and Nikhil (55kg) both lose in their semi-finals and claim bronze, bringing India’s total to six medals (1 gold, 3 silver, 2 bronze).
