The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) allows officers who are studying abroad on academic or professional programmes to take the Corps’ 2026 promotion examinations remotely. The service says the arrangement forms part of its efforts to digitise personnel management and remove barriers that could delay or block career progression for officers outside Nigeria. According to the reports, FRSC describes remote participation as a “major step” toward modernising how promotion exercises are conducted. The Corps also indicates that safeguards are used during the remote process, including real-time monitoring cameras and independent observers, to support oversight of the examination setting. The initiative is framed as an update to existing procedures for promotion exercises, extending eligibility to officers temporarily away for studies while maintaining supervision and controls. The sources agree that the 2026 promotion exercise is the immediate context for the remote testing and that the policy targets officers on overseas courses rather than changing the overall promotion process itself.
