In Maharashtra’s Pune district, police investigate the alleged murder of realtor Ketan Agarwal after he was reportedly pushed from Lohagad Fort near Lonavala. A member of the rescue team, Sunil Gaikwad, tells reporters that when the team reached the fort they found Agarwal dead with severe head injuries, including a “crushed skull,” and bruises on his limbs. Gaikwad says the body was recovered and carried out through the jungle despite difficulty lifting it on a steep slope. He also describes the timeline of the police response, saying the call was received at 10:30 a.m., the operation continued until 12:30 p.m., and the body was handed to an ambulance at 1:30 p.m., with Siya Goyal reportedly present during retrieval and appearing calm.
Agarwal’s family members hold a candlelight march in Pimpri-Chinchwad demanding justice. His father, Vishal Agarwal, says he is satisfied with the investigation and places faith in the law-and-order system, while appealing for the accused to receive the death sentence. The family previously met Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, who said the guilty would face the “harshest punishment.” The CM also accepted the demand for a fast-track court and for senior advocate Ujjwal Nikam to serve as special public prosecutor.
