Halifax Regional Police released a statement on Saturday morning saying a 39-year-old man was pronounced dead at a Lahey Road scene at approximately 10:30 p.m. The police are treating it as a homicide and added “this is not believed to be a random incident.” The victim was not identified in the release and HRP said “the investigation by the Major Crime Unit of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division is ongoing.” Lahey Road is a two-block residential street located near the corner of Victoria Road and Albro Lake Road, just west of the downtown area. HRP is seeking help from the public, announcing: “Anyone who may have video from the area is asked to contact police if they haven’t already been spoken to by calling 902-490-5020. Anonymous tips can be sent to Crime Stoppers by calling toll-free 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), submitting a secure web tip at crimestoppers.ns.ca or by using the P3 Tips app.”
