Manchester United are not looking to sell midfielder Mason Mount despite reports linking him with AC Milan. The speculation follows the appointment of Ruben Amorim as Milan coach, with Italian reports claiming he wants to reunite with Mount. One report also suggested an offer around £21.5 million for the player.
However, other reporting indicates there is no basis for a transfer at this stage. Manchester sources say United have no intention of selling Mount this summer, and that Mount is also not pushing for a move. It is reported that he is in Spain working on an individual fitness programme and is expected to join pre-season with the squad when training begins.
Mount’s future is also influenced by his recent injury record, which has limited his appearances over multiple seasons. Even so, United are described as still viewing him as a useful first-team option as they prepare for a busy next campaign, including a return to the Champions League.
Meanwhile, United’s midfield plans are affected by injuries, with Manuel Ugarte’s knee ligament injury expected to limit how much they can spend on further midfield reinforcements.
