A dispute continues between the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and Class 12 student Vedant Shrivastava over the marks awarded after revaluation of his Physics answer sheet. CBSE says the revaluation process results in an increase of 11 marks for Vedant. Vedant, however, disputes the board’s account, saying an earlier correction of his answer sheet accounts for a 9-mark rise in Physics, and that the formal revaluation itself added only two additional marks.

The disagreement escalates as CBSE dismisses Vedant’s claims, describing them as incorrect and using strong language in its response, while Vedant rejects CBSE’s explanation and maintains that his scores were handled irregularly. Both sides are effectively disputing how much of the mark change is attributable specifically to the revaluation exercise versus any prior adjustment.

The case also brings attention to CBSE’s assessment processes, including its On-Screen Marking system, as the student challenges whether the marking and revaluation outcomes are being reflected accurately.
