Police in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, arrest a suspected drug supplier from the Dwarkapuri area and seize narcotics along with cash and arms-related items, officials said on Monday. The case follows the arrest of Lucky Nath on June 22, when police seized 16 grams of brown sugar from him. During questioning, Lucky Nath allegedly identified Chetan Nath as the supplier. Acting on this lead, police tracked down Chetan Nath, a resident of Dwarkapuri, and detained him from the Rajwada area on Sunday evening.
During a search of Chetan Nath’s room, police recover 270 grams of brown sugar and about 8 kg of ganja. Officials also seize Rs 19 lakh in cash, a currency-counting machine, 22 live pistol cartridges, and equipment allegedly used to pack brown sugar into sachets. Police say they register a case against Chetan Nath under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act and other relevant provisions, including the Arms Act.
Police add that Chetan Nath allegedly told them he sourced the brown sugar from Pratapgarh in Rajasthan. They are verifying this claim and investigating the broader network. Officials also allege Chetan Nath has been involved in drug trafficking for several years with his sister, Seema Nath, who is suspected in drug smuggling cases, and that he has multiple prior criminal cases, including murder, robbery, and arms-related offences.
